The Tribe is a Discord server started by content creator AscendantNomad as an "improvement hub" for all things Destiny 2, and D2 PvP content in particular. It's not a clan or exclusive group, it's a venue focused entirely on self-improvement at the game of Destiny 2, and in a manner that is positive, stress-free, and inclusive. The Tribe emphasizes open and honest self-awareness, feedback, and critique of your own gameplay, and those of others in a constructive and meaningful manner.
In particular, The Tribe hosts a scrimmage format called "Proving Grounds", or PGs, which emphasize skillful, basic fundamentals of D2 PvP gameplay. It's an environment that is welcoming to anyone seeking improvement and feedback, and with no tolerance for griefing, trash talk, harassment, or disruptive behavior. Note that the Proving Grounds does have more restrictive rules on allowed weapons, armor, and mods than most players are used to, so please be sure to consult the #info-ruleset channel in their Discord for the latest rules; this is done to ensure a more level playing field which emphasizes teamplay, positioning, special economy, and gun-skill. PGs tend to be a 3v3 format consisting of 4 teams, all teams play best of three rounds (across three modes) in a round robin format against each other team, and then proceed into tie-breakers if necessary; so you're looking at 6-12 rounds in the round robin segment depending on performance. The "Sherpas" and experienced players involved generally go a great job of offering advice and feedback when you ask for it, and a post-PG talking session generally occurs to go over what went right, what went wrong, and advising each other on what can be improved.
As of September 2020: Proving Grounds normally are run at 4pm EST on Thursdays, and 9pm EST on Saturdays. The Thursday session tends to have more European representation. The Tribe is also testing a PG format which is specifically intended for players who hover around a 1.0 kill/death ratio, as a means of lowering any perceived skill floor barriers to entry.
Most of the Ferrous Core PvP-focused players have participated in Proving Grounds at least once, with near-universally good things to say about the results and organization thereof. If you're looking to improve at PvP, we HIGHLY encourage The Tribe.
The CORE Crucible Sweatshop (#d2-pvp-sweatshop on Ferrous Core's Discord)
The "sweatshop" is a small, very focused, Ferrous Core channel and service emphasizing helping those wanting to elevate their gameplay and understand the meta and excel. Whether it is reaching Legend rank in Comp, achieving Unbroken, or going Flawless in Trials, we will be focused solely on improving your understanding and ability in the circus known as Destiny 2's Crucible. The sweatshop focuses on proven, "on meta", tools, techniques, and approaches for pinnacle achievements in D2 PvP; it is not for emotion-driven debates/arguments over off-meta.
The sweatshop (as of July 2020) is effectively taking a hiatus from in game sessions, but most of the Ferrous Core "coaches" continue to be available for gameplay review and advice.
